The Ghost Page!
As an acquisitions editor and author for Schiffer Publishing, I've become even more interested in ghosts than I was before. (Was that possible?) Something new to me is the actual investigation of the phenomena as opposed to my prior life where I just read about them or watched them on television. My day is filled with discussions with paranormal investigators and writers from around the country--I love it! (Speaking of which, if you're reading this page and think you might like to do some writing about ghosts in varied regions of the country, email me at dinah@schifferbooks.com. I'm actively seeking authors.)
I've been specifically involved with the Chester County Paranormal Reseach Society who assisted me in the story collecting for my first ghost book: Ghosts of Valley Forge and Phoenixville. (Available now!) Visit the CCPRS to read more about our investigations and upcoming events in Pennsylvania! Additionally, several members of the group have upcoming ghost books coming out that will chill you to the bone!
One of my favorite ghost sites is Ghost Village. Read my interview by author and reviewer Lee Prosser!
My second ghost book for Schiffer: Cape May Haunts and Spooky York Pennsylvania, are now available at the Schiffer Publishing Website and your local book stores! And trust me, Cape May, New Jersey, though a beautiful resort town, is very haunted. (As a sneak peak, check out the cool EVP I got during my research at The Chester County Paranormal Research Society EVP page! You'll be amazed!)
In the meantime, take a look at this strange picture taken at Mt. Moriah Cemetery--Katharine Sarro's book Philadelphia Haunts will tell all about this very haunted place. I'm not saying it's a real haunting I've caught here--I'm still learning to decipher that kind of thing--but it's definitely strange.
(Click on the photo to see it more clearly!) This is a photo taken from a 5.0 megapixel digital of 3 newly dug graves on Saturday May 13, 2006 in mid afternoon (5.0 is not the best camera to use for this kind of thing, so there are questions there). There are no headstones--only wood stakes marking the piles of dirt. The stakes are exactly where the white orb-like objects are located. A wooded area is behind the graves. Grass surrounds the plots and the white area at the bottom of the photo is roadway. The only change I made to this photo was to change the color to CMYK. It was a clear sunny day, no wind and the sun was behind me.
I've never seen orbs this dark and pronounced. But the balls of light are too specifically located for it to be a flash or light issue--at least, that's what I think. I'm open to interpretation. I have no clue why there is such a blur. I suppose I could have jiggled the camera, but I really don't think so!
Now don't forget, too, that I have a fantastic regional ghost story out there already in the acclaimed Travel Guide to the Haunted Mid Atlantic! It takes place in the feared Reymeyer's Hollow in haunted York County, Pennsylvania! The story behind this story will be featured in my upcoming book, Spooky York PA to be released in Spring 2008.
