Charities I Care About
The below charities all serve different but worthwhile purposes for people in today's world. Please consider the needs of others by contributing time, money, or your hearts where most needed.

Say No to DRUG DRIVING
This new poster (with me as the prominent character!) will be displayed through out New Zealand by CANDOR -- The Campaign Against Drugs on Roads organization and Rachel Ford, who will be leading the fight to keep those using drugs off the streets. Though this impressive group is lobbying in New Zealand, this is an issue that deserves prominent work throughout the world.
CANDOR's Mission is:
| To raise awareness of drug driving risk. | |
|
To lobby for urgent law change in New Zealand. | |
| To erect a DUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs) Victims' memorial site | |
| Post law change we may focus on a program involving victims in offender rehabilitation. |
Just remember: If you value the quality of your long-term relationships, SAY NO TO DRUG DRIVING!

Red Lion Animal Rescue -- Those of you who know the Roseberry Books family personally, know that author, D. P. Roseberry has two rescued animals in the past -- one adopted from a family just prior to going to the shelter, and one from the Red Lion Animal Rescue in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. Tessa, who was a very prim and proper Peek-a-Poo with a queen's mentality has passed on and has returned in our new dog, Lattee (given to me by a close friend); and Rufus, our shelter boy, is a 10 years old, 10-dog mix who lives for the food and sings to Happy Birthday like a true star. Murphy was rescued from under a cabinet out in the world and he has the attitude of a nasty old woman. Families are always works in progress! Shown below, you will note that Tessa sat stately on her blanket on our furniture. Rufus, however, finds our best decorative pillows and props himself upon the arm of the couch. Now Lattee poses for a photo as does Murphy. Yup, everyone is right at home.
Another great animal book!
Donna Clementoni is a fantastic
author providing a wonderful service to nonprofits looking to raise funds.
She donates profits of her books about the charming and loveable Tony to the
York County SPCA -- I have to say, I fell in love with this little
guy when I
met him in person in York, PA! I even had my picture taken with him (I was
bumming it at the Wright Brothers Lincoln Mercury)!
Hey, maybe I'll show up in one of his adventures!

The
first of a series of "dog tails" about Tony, a very lucky 9-1/2 pound Italian
Greyhound.
Tony, Tony, Tony! A delightful storybook for "children of all ages!" With more than 40 charming charcoal drawings, "Tony" tells the "tail" of his life living in a castle in Maryland. Exploring the neighborhood and flying in an airplane with his daddy are just a few of his adventures!
An elementary explanation of the Italian greyhound's history and characteristics will have you wanting to run out and adopt one! This is a book that you and your children will want to read over and over again.
